The Academic Success Team serves the Guardian Scholars Program community through mentoring and supporting students in their academic journey here at UC Merced. With their academic skills and experience, they will help you navigate the college environment, so that you can succeed here at UC Merced!
Academic Success Navigators
Their role is to peer-mentor and support students based on assigned cohorts. Each Academic Success Navigator is assigned a cohort based on the year level of students. Our team will have one-one meetings with students to check on their academic progress, goals, and providing the appropriate resources students need to perisist and succeed in their academic journey. Our navigators can also be seen asissting with other parts of the program such as events and workshops. The Academic Success Navigators may direct students to tutoring services available across the campus. Study sessions will be hosted by our navigators to encourage our students to develop the skills needed to perform well on their exams and course grades overall and to foster a supportive learning community.
The Academic Success Navigators will be the primary source of academic support resources for the program
Scholar Engagement & Operations Lead
Their role is to lead the Academic Success Navigators in their operations. While, students may continue to schedule meetings with this individual, this role focuses on the overall aspects of the program. They will ensure that scholars are engaged with the program and asisst them with other needs the scholars may have in their journey here at UC Merced.
