Financial

Scholarships

Scholarships are gift funds that are often awarded on the basis of financial need, merit, academic achievement, special talents, interest, or other criteria defined by the sponsoring organization or donor. Scholarship funds do not have to be repaid. To learn more about the many different scholarships offered by UC Merced and some recommended websites for outside scholarships, you can visit here

Emergency Aid

Emergency funds provide financial support to current UC Merced students when they need assistance with unexpected, unforeseen, and unavoidable emergency expenses surrounding situations such as accidents, illness, homelessness, fire damage, or need for temporary housing. Currently enrolled students may apply for funds when they have exhausted all other financial resources (student loans, personal resources, and payment plans). To apply, you need to make an appointment to meet with someone from the Dean of Students Office. This funding is not intended to reimburse for expenses that have already been paid, or to replace or supplement existing financial aid. If emergency funds are granted, they do not have to be repaid. To learn more, visit the Student Affairs website here.

If you are ineligible for UC Merced Emergency Funds or if there are no funds available, reach out to the GSP Program Coordinator to see how the program may be able to help!
