4. How To Learn More About The Position

  • The Guardian Scholars Program will be hosting multiple events to give scholars a glimpse into the position. Stay tuned for posts about the position through Cat Courses and Instagram.

5. Training

  • The students who are accepted for the position must attend mandatory training starting May 19 – May 29.

6. Qualifications

  • Be in good academic standing at UC Merced at the end of each academic semester
  • Moderate to advance knowledge of: Microsoft Office/Suite, Adobe, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Qualtrics, Google+, Box, E-vite, Canva, etc...
  • Knowledge of issues facing foster and/or homeless youth in higher education
  • Ability to work and mentor scholars of diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and public speaking skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with FERPA and HIPPA regulations
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to learn new skills, adapt to changing demands on the job, think creatively, and carry conceptual ideas through implementation
  • Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback
  • Must be available for training on May 19th - May 29th.
